On May 14th, 2017, Elijah Chandler (friend of Josiah who tried saving his life while they waited for the ambulance), Ren (Josiah's girlfriend), Tina Sampay (HSU alumni and free-lance journalist) and Michael (who has been a Humboldt resident resident for over 30 years), sit down with KMUD's Radical Rap host in conversation about the complexities surrounding Josiah's murder and murder suspect Kyle Zoellner's preliminary hearing, which lasted for 5 days and ended with Zoellner being released due to a lack of physical evidence.
*Note: We would like to give much thanks to Radical Rap for allowing us the opportunity to have this conversation aired on KMUD, a local radio station in Humboldt County. The views expressed are not those of KMUD. Local media coverage of Josiah's murder has been extremely problematic and this space was one of the only local media outlets offered post Zoellner's release, for the friends and supporters of Josiah to share their feelings about the preliminary hearings, judge Dale Reinholtsen's ruling, the subsequent events that followed and goals of the #JusticeForJosiah campaign. The goal is to have an outside agency such as the Department of Justice assist in the case to ensure that those who murdered Josiah and all who were complicit in his death, be held accountable. __________________________________________________________________________________ Also, it can be played and/or downloaded at the KMUD site: http://archive.kmudfm.org/archive/index.php Monday Night Talk Monday, May 15, 2017 7:00 p.m. *Note* The comment below was left because it is a prime example of what the victims and supporters of Josiah are dealing with while they are mourning and trying to find justice for Josiah.

Where is your proof? If you have none, then you are in the same position that we all, who actually care for Josiah, are in. I really hate that we have to combat with people spreading misinformation like you. It is a hinderence to the truth and justice that we seek, and overall a representation to the statement of why students of color do not feel safe in Humboldt County! If that is your truth, please report your evidence to Mr. Sanders or Arcata police, otherwise GTFOH.
