In addition we the friends of Josiah have looming questions regarding the case such as: Why were Angelica McFarland and her mother never brought to testify during the preliminary hearings? Kyle Zoellner's girlfriend Lila Ortega testified that Angelica’s mother was called to the scene and drove Kyle’s car to take the girls home after Kyle was taken into custody.
Why was Kyle’s car allowed to be removed from the crime scene?
Why did Lila feel the need to lie about touching Kyle’s knife bag that he used for his job as a chef? She testified in court that she never touched the bag. However, her friend Casey Gleaton testified that Lila removed the knife bag from Kyle's car the morning after the stabbing and cried about one of the knives being missing.
Why was it never mentioned in court especially during the closing arguments of the prosecution, that Josiah’s girlfriend was jumped by Zoellner’s girlfriend and her friend Naiya Wilkins? Josiah's girlfriend was left with bite marks on her breast (caused by Lila Ortega) that severely scarred her skin. She was also left with a puncturewound on her left arm, which shows someone tried to stab her with something as well.
Whose fingerprint is on the knife found at the scene? Why wasn't officer Mckenzie able to remember if he wore gloves or not when he collected the knife from the crime scene? This leads one to wonder how exactly the evidence was collected.
Did the police fail to secure the crime scene properly?
It was proven in court by Lila’s friend Casey Gleaton that Lila for sure said that she hoped Josiah died, repeatedly. This was because, "Lilathought the person who was stabbed had taken her phone."
Why did Lila want Josiah to die so bad? Lila testified in court that she never said this.
When Zoellner was asked if he stabbed someone, he responded to Sgt. Dockweiler that he “didn't remember.” When Dockweiler told Zoellner that people said he stabbed someone Zoellner replied, “Did they see me stab someone, or are they saying I stabbed someone?”
